Johnny Depp has a language all his own.Whether the 'Alice in Wonderland' star is creating his own vernacular, rambling incoherently or exploring the rarely trodden middle ground between lexeme and laughter, he may be the only actor in Hollywood who can make an art form out of saying, well, nothing.
Vacsillicus!
(See ... doesn't work when we try it.)
Take it away, Johnny.

I own every one of those movies and those are some of my favorite parts. He can make even nonsensical ramblings sound good. That's a great actor, right there.
Don Pandanell at 2:40PM on Mar 5th 2010
The "ramblings" you hear are the ramblings of a mentally challenged person. He thinks Che is a hero and Romen Polanski just happens to love children.

He's terrible!
Carol at 7:35PM on Mar 4th 2010
Where he surpasses many other actors is his ability to convey the emotions of his characters so well through facial expressions and body movements, especially through his eyes (how does he do that?). And he tries to pick roles he personally relates to - voila!

It doesn't matter what JD is saying because his acting is so spot on that viewers can make sense of it. Johnny in "Alice in Wonderland" will not be any different. In fact, we will see a lot more of "Johnny's language" because the original story book is written in a way that doesn't make much sense; The reader has to do a lot of interpretation. He should have real fun with this one.....and we'll love hearing him say nothing!

Just got back from the midnight show...Do NOT walk to this show...RUN to this show as it was soooo freaking GOOD!!!! DO pay extra to see it in 3-D....totally worth it! And wear contacts if you have them verses glasses as the 3-D ones over mine had a bit of glare at first.
Simply supurb acting and casting.....Go Go Go Go!!!! Go 10 times if you can!!! I am!

I originally paid for regular tickets. afterwards I wondered if I should upgrade. since I too went to the midnight show and there wasn't a line when I got there, I upgraded my ticket to 3D.
I enjoyed the movie VERY much - and will be making myself at least one outfit from it!

I truely believe that Mr. Depp is a mind f*****g genious!! He has the ability to take and twist s**t around to where we have to really stop and think about what he just said.. We try to prepare ourselves for something that we most likely will not understand the first time around.. Hats down..
Zardoz at 5:17AM on Mar 6th 2010
Genius? More like egomaniac! He doesn't care about anything, but money and attention (he owns a private carribean island, you know...).
He is quoted in foreign news as saying:
"America is dumb, something like a dumb puppy that has big teeth — that can bite and hurt you, aggressive".
and
"I want my children to see America as a toy, a broken toy. Investigate it a little, check it out, get this feeling and then get out".
Depp is an expatriate living in France... "Thankless France". A country that we sacrificed THOUSANDS of our young men, to liberate twice, in 2 world wars...
I have no problem with any celebrity who criticizes this country, as soon as they willingly give up making obscene amounts of money here.
Show your disgust by refusing to sign movie contracts. Now that's courage!
Why keep our filthy money, why not give it all back?
Notice how he earned his billions BEFORE he became a critic of his disgusting EX-country ...

What color is the sky in your world? Take a chill pill.

Zardoz, my my my. He is talking about boobus america, which I am sure decribes you.
Uh the French helped us get our independence, No I'm not french but you need a history lesson. Go to your nearest large city and see the filthy ignoramouses and thugs then you will see what he is talking about. Good luck in life as I gather you will need it. Now get back to your wrestling.

ZARDOZ-Go back to Oz and live in your fantasy world. Johnny Depp is a genius. He doesn't view this world through rose colored glasses, and doesn't buy into acceptance of everything that he is told to believe like many Americans do. He was smart to move to France, it IS his wife's country, and he doesn't have lies told about him by the media everytime he takes a crap, DUH! As far as him owning an island in the Caribbean...if I had his money that is what I would do too. Who wants to go on vacation and be plagued by paparazzi, kooks, and autograph hounds everywhere you go? He can take his family and vacation in privacy and have peace. Johnny Depp rocks!

I know America has its flaws but so does France. No one in this argument truly has the high ground. Both countries have done terrible things and they have both helped each other out. Making assumptions about all the people who live in a place is what I don't agree with. Johnny Depp saying that about Americans upsets me because I am an American and he just lumped everyone into a stereotype. I applaud his acting but I don't applaud that.
Zardoz at 4:53PM on Mar 6th 2010
Dear Jeff (and you other idolators), You are the one in need of some history lessons.
France never cared about our independance from England, but only saw it as an opportunity to contest British world power by supporting a new British opponent (France sacrificed "no" French lives for our revolution).
There are currently 66,033 Americans buried in France, in 11 cemetaries. This represents America's sacrifice, on behalf of the French, in both WWI and WW2 (not counting the thousands that could not be given a burial).
France continually opposes the U.S. and NATO in world policies, for it's own gain.
France is helping IRAN to build and acquire nuclear power and nuclear material. It was a French built and maintained missle that sank a British warship during the Falkland Island crisis.
Who remembers when the French ignored the worldwide nuclear test ban treaty (which they signed), and detonated several atmospheric a-bombs in the south pacific (and continues to poison the ocean today)?
France is the whore of the world, and an enemy of democracy. This is where Depp pledges his allegiance, the country of his "girlfriend" (she is NOT currently his wife, as someone claimed).
There's your "history lesson". Now who is the naive American boobus? Again, I have no problem with "free speech", as long as the speaker is not a hypocrite.
This country made Depp filthy rich beyond his wildest dreams, this country made him who he is today, try that in France (how many French superstar actors are there...?). How dare he spit in your face and mine, after we "created him" (one movie ticket at a time).
Mike at 10:20PM on Mar 21st 2010
How many famous French actors you ask? I assume you mean American and French. Well, here you go. The Baldwins. You know, Alec, Daniel, Stephen and William. Jessica Alba, Patricia Arquette, Jessica Biel, Alexis Bledel, Jim Carrey, Robert DeNiro, our very own (can you guess why he picked France now dumbass?) Johnny Depp, Emily and Zooey Deschanel, Robert Duvall, Megan Fox, Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, Shia LeBeauf, Christopher Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Dennis Quaid, Christopher Reeve, Mickey Rourke, Frank Sinatra, Patrick Swayze, etc. As you can see, this is not a complete list, yet it's still very substantial. So learn your facts before you speak. I don't agree with how Depp went about saying it, but he's a great actor and America does, in fact, suck.

JD is one of the best, if not the best actor in the world. Actors follow scripts.. they portray and try to enhance the character they are immitating. All of his actions, speach, looks revolve around who the actor is immitating. Great Job Johnny Depp !!!!

Oh my goodness!!It dosen't matter what Johnny Depp is saying because,hi's are soo freaking "GOOD"
Genius...Fantastic..Best actor ever...

Francie: Oh my goodness!!It dosen't matter what Johnny Depp is saying because,hi's are soo freaking "GOOD"
Francie, saying that it doesn't matter what Depp is saying, is like saying: "it doesn't matter what Adolf Hitler said, because HE said it Sooooo Good"!

One word. He's genius.
